Have you ever seen the sun burst down through the clouds, creating a spotlight affect, as if God was pointing to something, shining down upon it? It’s a beautiful and somewhat rare sight. Now, have you ever stood in one of those lights? You probably have at one point or another but you did not know it. That's because in order to be able to see that God is shining down on something you have to be far away from it. Removed. You need to have some perspective to see how great that thing is. That’s why people take things for granted. They assume that everything they have is normal and ordinary and learn to expect no less. Until that thing is taken away. Then all of a sudden you want it so much more. You have no idea how blessed you are until you stop outside of the light and into the darkness.

I really like the quote: ordinary people marvel at extraordinary things, but extraordinary people marvel at ordinary things...
You are anything but ordinary.

Some of that is very true. Though I feel that there are times when one does realize that the proverbial light is on them and that a true connection with the universe, with God, or with yourself and friends can be truly felt.
Vlad do you remember that one night over the summer when you, Steve, and I drove out to the middle of nowhere and stopped at that farm to watch a meteor shower? The sky was filled with clouds, until we pulled into that one farm and found a circular break in the clouds, the only break for miles. You, Steve, and I sat there for I don't know how long watching the meteors. It was like God had opened that one stop in the clouds just for the three of us. Like he was giving us a glimpse at the secrets to the universe, to the magic of everything.
That was our time in the circle of light or in our case our late night break in the clouds. I realized it then and I haven't forgotten it.
