A Tale from Milwaukee
It was 7am last Sunday and CSz World Championship was winding down. And by winding down I mean the final afterparty (there was one every night starting on wednesday) was about over. I was one of the few survivors who was still up. At this point everyone else had either gone to bed, left Milwaukee, or were in the process.

I had no intention of going to sleep so I set out on a mission. Thursday night I had ordered some pizza and left over was a whole pie, and 2 slices. What to do? The obvious answer is give it to a homeless person. "This is a city," I thought. "There has to be some hungry soul around somewhere."

So I set out, leaving the Courtyard Marriot and turning right. After walking roughly a mile I had come upon a total of one homeless person. He was sitting in an alley. I came up to him, pizza box in hand and said "You hungry?"

"Nope," came the reply as he busily chewed on a drumstick. So I set out again, curving back towards the hotel. A little bit later I saw some players from CSz Milwaukee.

"Don't you have any homeless people here?!" I said.
"Not really."
"So what am I gonna do with this pizza?"
"Just put it in an alley. They'll pick it up if they want it."

This was not the proactive solution I was going for, but after leaving them and walking another half mile I decided it was actually a much better one than walking around a city I didn't know after getting no sleep and partying all night.

So I found an alley and carefully placed the pizza down; closing the box carefully so it looked nice. I then started walking back to hotel when I spotted a homeless person. This makes 2 for the whole city. I came up to him and asked him if he was hungry. This time yes was the reply. "Stay right here!" I said. And I ran off. I sprinted for 2 and a half blocks because that pizza was gonna be his. And it was my job to get it. I ran into the alley, grabbed it, dusted off the bottom, and ran back to him. "Here, this is for you," I said. And I walked off.

That's a lotta pizza to have leftover dawg. Did you just mistake how hungry you were or something? Eyes bigger then stomach?

What do ya think they do with all the homeless then?

I think the bus them to DC, we got more homeless per squarefoot than any other city, guaranteed!

And oh yeah, the plan was to share, but none of us (including me) were hungry when the pizza actually came. We were just tired.

I'm glad that so many of my friends are such genuinely nice and caring people. I feel honored to know ya! Wait, now this means that I should go do something selfless and honorable...hmm...

Thanks for being an inspiration, Vlad!

Once apon a time, I was strolling down the streets of Georgetown after buying two muffins from Dean and Delucas for breakfast. I saw a young homeless man sitting on the ground with a cup of change in his hand. His collection was scarce and I was broke as a joke so I handed him one of my muffins as a replacement for spare change. I thought that I was quite the martyr until I felt something hit me in the head. I look to the ground behind me and there lay my muffin. Who says that beggars cant be choosers?

Its nice to know that we people can feel pretty good about ourselves by giving away things that are meaningless to us, to those whose situations are not going to improve at all. That guy is still up there sleeping in a box, I wonder if that Pizza was the best thing that ever happened to him. I should hope not. You're still the man though Vlad!
