Edit: This post sucks. 9/15/04.

Hey man wassup. nothing, you? Just thinking. bout?
Well...If God is all knowing, then he knows the future, and everything that a person will ever do, hence how can there be free will?
But Vladimir, that doesnt mean God controls everything, he lets people choose what they are going to do, hence free will.
Yes, but the path of our life, has already been laid out (since it is known to God) and therefore, are we not simply following that path? Free will cant exist if everything we are ever going to do is known. God is all knowing and all powerful. He knew exactly what we would do before he even made us. We are simply following our predestined path.
OK, fine, you've got me....But, what if there is no God? How about that! Beyotch!
Jeez you quite easily. Anyways, I refuse to believe that. There is no empyrical evidence either way.
No empyrical evidence either way? What do you mean? Theres no evidence that a time machine doesnt exist, but we know it doesnt, duh.
Actually, there is evidence that a time machine does not exist. I like to call that evidence the laws of physics. Right now, a time machine is a logical impossibility.
Anyways, think about this. God is all knowing, so he creates us and knows exactly what we will do. But does God KNOW in the way that we think of knowing? I know that if I hold my pen high in the air and then let go of it, it will fall, but suppose God sees everything happening all at once as if EVERYTHING is present to Him. We cant fathom this but God is God. It could be. Or perhaps when he creates us, he knows of every possible action that we are possible of, and the respective repercussions/consequences of those actions. It may be that he knows so much about us, he can see what we are capable of and knows what we will do, in a form of intuition. Kind like the way I know that if I bat at a bee, it might get mad and sting me. Or it might not.
Excuse me...[brain explodes]
Oh well. Peace be with you.

Hey, i like your journal!--Becca

cuz saving the planet is the thing to do....lol, just kidding. But seriously, your philosophiz-ing reminded me of the Calvinist religion. they believe in predestination, which basically kinda goes like this..."Because God is all knowing and all powerful, nothing you will ever do is unknown to God. Therefore, God already knows whether you're saved or not, and if you haven't been chosen to be saved, there's nothing you can do about it." It's a pretty depressing thought, if you ask me. But what you were saying reminded me of it. Kewel journal :)
